Vector vs. Bitmap. If you have a great logo design, you’ll surely want it to be seen at it’s best. Business logos viewed on electronic media are bitmap images. Most display satisfactorily.
Here’s a big mistake some business owners and graphic designers make. They use the bitmap version of their logo for printing. They should be using the vector version of their logo.
A vector image looks sharp and crisp at any size. Whereas, a bitmap image can look fuzzy or jagged. This happens when enlarged beyond its intended use.
This is not just a case of high resolution versus low resolution images. Put simply, a vector image always displays at the maximum resolution and quality. Conversely, bitmaps don’t always display properly. The cause is lack of preparation for the final usage.
